Do the Hebrew Scriptures say G-d Has a Son

And who is G-d's "son" Proverbs 30:4 asks. “…what is His name and what is his son’s name, if thou canst tell?”

G-d had stated centuries before that His Messiah is His son (2 Samuel 7:13,14). G-d is not speaking only of Solomon there, as G-d states there that the throne of that King shall last FOREVER. Solomon’s throne did not last forever.

G-d speaking to King David says: “And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

[13] He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom FOR EVER.

[14] I will be HIS FATHER, and he shall BE MY SON. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:

[15] But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.

[16] And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established FOR EVER before thee: thy throne shall be established FOR EVER.” (2 Samuel 7:13-16)

G-d repeats this in Psalm 89:3,4 -46 “I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant, Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to ALL generations. Selah.

“I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.”

[26] He shall cry unto me, Thou art MY FATHER, my God, and the rock of my salvation.

[27] Also I will make him MY FIRSTBORN, higher than the kings of the earth.

[28] My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.

[29] His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and HIS THRONE as the days of heaven…

[35] Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.

[36] His seed shall endure forever, AND HIS THRONE AS THE SUN BEFORE ME.

[37] It shall be established FOR EVER AS THE MOON, and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.

[38] But thou hast cast off and abhorred, thou hast been wroth with THINE ANNOINTED.

[39] Thou hast made void the covenant of thy servant: thou hast profaned his crown by casting it to the ground.

[40] Thou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strong holds to ruin.

[41] All that pass by the way spoil him: he is a reproach to his neighbours.

[42] Thou hast set up the right hand of his adversaries; thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice.

[43] Thou hast also turned the edge of his sword, and hast not made him to stand in the battle.

[44] Thou hast made his glory to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground.

[45] THE DAYS OF HIS YOUTH HAST THOU SHORTENED: thou hast covered him with shame. Selah.

[46] How long, LORD? WILT THOU HIDE THYSELF FOREVER? shall thy wrath burn like fire?

Please note that the person G-d speaks of here in Psalm 89:45 has the days of His youth shortened. But, scripture says that King David “…was old and stricken in years” (1 Kings 1:1). However, Jesus of Nazareth had his days “shortened” by His death at about age 33. Also note that Ps. 89:46 states that G-d has been “hiding” himself. This is true. The identity of Himself and His SON have been hidden from those who do not seek with their whole heart and Soul and mind. For G-d had said he will do something NEW, something never heard of before. The verses where G-d says he will do a "New thing" are Isaiah 42:9; 43:19 and 48:6. G-d repeats Himself several times there saying He will do something NEW. G-d does not repeat himself unless it is important. Traditional Judaism is the same now as it was in the days of Moses. Traditional Judaism is obviously not “The New Thing”.

Our Jewish brethren should have been awaiting something NEW! Most have not.

It was NEW when G-d said in Isaiah 9:6,7 “For unto us a child is BORN, unto us a SON is given: and the GOVERNMENT shall be upon his shoulder: and HIS NAME shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, THE MIGHTY GOD, THE EVERLASTING FATHER, The Prince of Peace.

[7] Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the THRONE OF DAVID, and upon HIS KINGDOM, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even FOR EVER. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.”

The child who was born is the Jew, Jesus of Nazareth. His name according to Prophet Isaiah is “EL GIBBOR”. (Hebrew for THE MIGHTY G-D”). He also shall be called according to Isaiah “THE EVERLASTING FATHER”. Think of it, a child borrn for us who will grow up to be called “The Mighty G-d” and “The Everlasting Father”. Now that is something NEW.

Solomon built a house for God’s name and Jesus is building one. Jesus is the cornerstone of the house: “The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.

[23] This is the LORD's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.

[24] This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:22-24

And as the Jew, Apostle Peter (never a”Pope”, that is Roman Catholic nonsense) said: “…Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual HOUSE, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

[6] Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief CORNER STONE, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.

[7] Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, THE STONE which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,

[8] And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

[9] But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: (1 Peter 2:5-9).

The Messiah is G-d’s "son" who will "judge" the world. The traditional Rabbis state that Messiah will “judge” the world (see the Rabbinical Soncino commentaries on Micah 5:1-4 and Isaiah 11:4, etc. And G-d has stated in the verses just quoted above, that Messiah is His son.

And again, in Psalm 2:6-12 " Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

[7] I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art MY SON; this day have I begotten thee.

[8] Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

[9] Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

[10] Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

[11] Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

[12] Kiss THE SON, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

Psalm 2:12 can also certainly be translated as "kiss the son" as opposed to "do homage in purity" as the traditional Rabbis like to translate it.

As it says in Daniel 7:9-14 “[9] I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.

[10] A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.

[11] I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.

[12] As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.

[13] I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the SON of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

[14] And there was given him DOMINION, and glory, and a kingdom, that ALL people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an EVERLASTING dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

Note: The “ancient of days” is clearly G-d and one like the “son of man” {Messiah Jesus we say!} is given dominion and glory and an EVERLASTING Kingdom (as it said in 2 Samuel 7:13-16 - see the beginning sentences of this analysis). So, the Messiah is not only G-d’s son but one like the “son of man”.

And, Zechariah 12:9-12: “[9] And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

[10] And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon ME WHOM THEY HAVE PIERCED, and they shall mourn for him, as one MOURNETH FOR HIS ONLY SON, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for HIS FIRSTBORN[11] In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.

[12] And the land shall mourn, every family apart;…”

There all of Israel shall look upon the one who was pierced through as he was voluntarily crucified for their sins. Jesus their Messiah. And they (Israel) shall mourn for him as they would mourn for their first born son. The first born Son of G-d.
